One of the main points of Dividend Growth Investing is receiving increases in the dividends. Well, duh...
2020 has been a it sketchy with that as the pandemic threw a wrench into many companies' growth.
I received no increases in August.
September was infinitely better. 4 increases. (4 is infinitely larger than 0... uh, something like that)
The big surprise was seeing a 9.8% increase from Starbucks. They had been hit hard by the shutdowns an have adjusted well to the new normal. I wasn't expecting one at all.
Here's the summary.
TICKER | OLD DIV | NEW DIV | % Gain |
VZ | $0.6150 | $0.6275 | 2% |
STOR | $0.3500 | $0.3600 | 2.9% |
MSFT | $0.5100 | $0.5600 | 9.8% |
SBUX | $0.4100 | $0.4500 | 9.8% |
The result was a $16.94 increase to my annual dividends. Which I will also re-invest and make the snowball rolling down hill just that much larger.
